Bikes and scooters are getting better, manufacturers are offering more value-for-money than ever and people now simply have more choices when it comes to their next purchase. But, do you know what the elephant in the room is? You may have guessed it already – electric bikes.

The future is electric.

We can bet that you have heard this phrase thousands of times till now. It is everywhere – Tesla in the US, Tork and Emflux Motors in India, and now Revolt Motors as well! It wouldn’t be a lie if we said that your next bike may be an electric one, and offer better performance than its petrol counterpart. No wonder, the future IS here. Let us, then, explore a few electric bikes and their specifications in India:

1. Revolt RV 400
Revolt Motors are planning to launch the Revolt RV 400 motorcycle on July 22nd, 2019. Bookings had begun from 25th June 2019, you can book yours now from the Revolt Motors website. The expected price should be around 1-1.5 lakhs.

They claim it to be India’s first Artificial Intelligence-enabled electric motorcycle with an ARAI certified range of 156 km and a top speed of 85 km/h. The battery is a detachable one and can be charged easily, just like your phone.
For those who like the sound of conventional bikes, Revolt has equipped their bike with 4 unique sound modes – race, roar, rebel and rage, changeable at the touch of a button via their Revolt App. It comes with a lot more features like geo-fencing, real-time battery display, anti-theft protection, trip details tracking and the like.

2. Emflux One
Emflux Motors is India’s first electric superbike startup!
Their appearance at the 2018 edition of Auto Expo, where they showcased the Emflux One, grabbed a lot of eyeballs and garnered huge interest from the automotive fraternity.

The Emflux One promises truly electrifying performance – a 0-100 km/h time of 3 seconds, a top speed of 200 km/h and a range of 200 kms on a single charge. Moreover, it comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a typical superbike – Pirelli tires, Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, dual channel ABS and regenerative braking. Truly premium, in every sense of the word.
Its razor sharp design and cutting-edge technology make for a price tag ranging between 5-6 lakhs. Bike-to-bike connectivity (via their app), GPS navigation, remote customization, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and real-time bike diagnostics are some of the features offered with the motorcycle. 3. Tork T6X
The Tork T6X is India’s first electric performance motorcycle. Their website claims that 7 years of exhaustive research and development have gone into the making of this bike. Not only that, Tork Motors may be one of the few startups which can boast of serious motorsport credentials – Isle of Man TTXGP, Isle of Man TTZERO and India’s own T4X Valley Run.

It offers a top speed of 100 km/h, a range of 100 km and a kerb weight of just 130 kgs! The Tork Motors website gives a complete list of the bike’s features.
The bike uses the battery pack as a stressed member of the frame, with the battery capable of being charged up to 80 percent in 60 minutes. It features a 4.3″ TFT screen, along with app and cloud connectivity. The price should be somewhere around the 1.3 lakhs mark.

The future is right here, right now. It is only a matter of time when you would be standing at the traffic lights with the sound of petrol vehicles replaced by the silent hum of electric vehicles, wondering how all this time went by…
